Must buy item: Geri Halliwell's playsuit

TopShop playsuit as seen on Geri Halliwell - It's fashion, dahling! The playsuit/jumpsuit was a bubbling under item last year. I got my mitts on two different types last summer and wore them to death. I'm a total convert - they really are much more flattering than you think. The only downside is having to strip off when you need the loo so they're not very good for camping/festivals/etc!

Geri Halliwell obviously agrees with me! She was spotted at Asda in Milton Keynes (oh the glamour of a Spice Girl, eh?!) wearing this gorgeous little star print TopShop playsuit.

Wear it like Geri with heels for an evening out or team with flip flops and a straw hat for a casual day look. It's just so versatile!

Other good places to buy one of these little numbers is ASOS or Miss Selfridge.

Celebrity Style: Rachael Leigh Cook goes pink at Cannes!

Rachael Leigh Cook at Cannes Film Festival - It's fashion, dahling! In my past job, the Cannes Film Festival was a big deal. Not only was it about the celeb gossip, but also about the movies natch. In this job, the frocks are the stars.

To be honest, I've already had my fill of these movie gowns. There doesn't seem to be a lot of individuality this year and even Cate Blanchett, whose style I normally admire, looked a bit dull.

Thank goodness for former-model-turned-actress Rachael Leigh Cook. She stepped out in this gorgeous hot pink creation, which is fun and youthful. She looks her age, which I think is sometimes a problem with these full on red carpet frocks. Rachael has managed to look cute in everything she's worn in the South of France this week.

The only accessory I'm not too sure about is her bearded hubby, Daniel Gillies. Normally, Daniel looks hot, so let's hope the facial hair is for a movie.

If you do one thing this weekend...

... get your SJP fix prior to the Sex And The City movie opening with Smart People. Sarah Jessica Parker plays a doctor who falls in love with a widowed professor. There are no Manolos, but it's meant to be pretty good!

... up the glamour stakes with some Marilyn Monroe film action. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is on the box on Saturday afternoon. You know it's bound to be raining so stay inside and get an injection of '50s glamour. This is my favourite Marilyn film - you're bound to get some style tips as well!

... cheer yourself up with some Eley Kishimoto sunglasses. They're on sale at Brand Alley at the moment and are just delicious. Very '50s in style, you could wear them while watching Marilyn!

... go out in the country. Yes, it's raining but who cares. Just pull on a pair of Hunter wellies - I'm going for the navy, but you could push the boat out and buy a pink pair if you so decide!

Must buy item: Get skating with Dorothy Perkins!

I'll hold my hands up and admit that I'm not much of a Dorothy Perkin's fan. I find their clothes are often lacking in inspiration, plus close up they always look a bit, well cheap.

However, occasionally they do pull out all the stops.
First they had that gorgeous jumpsuit, which sold out in double time. Now, they've introduced this cute floral skater skirt.

It ticks all this summer's trend boxes - floral, full and short. In fact, it looks very much like some of the skirts Urban Outfitters is selling. The main plus point however is that it costs a bargainous £22. So even if this trend dies a death by autumn, you've not wasted your dosh!

Must-buy item: Cute Warehouse cover up

Warehouse silk embroidered cover up - It's fashion, dahlingThis burst of unseasonal sun has made me think of summer holidays. The older I get, the less clothes I like to take so it's becoming more important to buy dual-purpose holiday clobber.

This gorgeous silk cover-up from Warehouse fits that bill perfectly. You could throw it over your bikini with a little denim skirt to take you from beach to bar. Or it would be equally at home over a cute little dress, with a tan belt thrown over it for that casual Ibiza bar-hopping look. Once home from your summery destination, it'll look great over a vest with jeans and flip flops.

So even though it may seem expensive at £45.00, it's really a bargain considering the amount of wears you'll get.

Sarah Jessica Parker jets in for the SATC premiere

Sarah Jessica Parker - Sex And The City premiere - It's fashion, dahling!Like nearly every thirty-something, Sex And The City was a ground-breaking TV show for me. Not only did it feature lots of lovely frocks, but it also talked about sex - something that had been missing from mainstream TV. For me and my single friends it was a reassuring - and entertaining - show to watch. I may not have owned a pair of Manolo's or a Fendi handbag, but I could still identify with the man situations the glam foursome found themselves in.

When the show ended, myself and six girlfriends went out to watch it at a special night - we supped Comos and sobbed with joy as Carrie got it together with Big.

So you can imagine my delight to see they would make it into a film - I just hope it doesn't disappoint. The great news for us UK fans is the world premiere of Sex And The City is not taking place in New York but little old Leicester Square, London.

Sarah Jessica Parker was out in the capital last night dining with fellow star Cynthia Nixon. As usual SJP looked amazing. In my eyes, this woman can do no wrong. Yes, she may not be conventionally pretty but I think that adds to her charms. She also seems to make the most ordinary outfits - in this case, a below the knee petrol blue dress - look so stylish. Even after SATC has finally gone to the fashion graveyard in the sky, this lady will still be looking hot! Check out more pics of SJP on PopSugar.

If you do one thing this weekend...

Patrizia Pepe sunhat on ASOS - It's fashion, dahling!... get out in the sun - it may be the only sun we have ALL year. To make the most of it, throw on this cute sundress. Plus, make sure you lather on the suntan lotion and for extra protection channel the Great Gatsby in this gorgeous Patrizia Pepe hat.

... pay a visit to the seaside. My faves are Whistable for some real old fashion seaside glamour, Torquay and Hove (it's quieter than Brighton but just as cool!

... go ape! If you're feeling more energetic, why not try swinging through the trees for a day. I've done it and it's great fun. It is exhausting but just think of all those calories you're burning!

Have fun!

Must-buy item: Lily print Oasis dress

As I sit and type this, the sun is blazing and it's really hot. OK, it may not last long but I'm loving every moment and intend to spend the next few days wafting around in cool cottons and flower prints.

This beautiful strapless dress from Oasis ticks every fashion box. Retro prom? Tick! Flower print? Tick! Wouldn't look out of place on Lily Allen/Peaches/Fearne Cotton? Tick!

Snap it up now and don't save it for a special occasion. Pop on some flat gladiator sandals for a dressed down look ala Kimberley Stewart at a festival. This would also look great with a faded '80s style denim jacket - so Aggy!

Kylie's back on tour and Pamela Anderson is selling up!

The interesting things on my radar this week...

1.Kylie's tour kicked off in Paris last night and she looked fantastic. This is a slightly bittersweet moment for me as I was meant to be seeing her in Antwerp tomorrow night but the friend I was staying with had a family tragedy so we had to postpone. Am obviously extremely gutted for friend but also a tad sad that I'm missing out and have to wait until July - sigh.

2. I'm in the middle of press show hell at the moment, but it does have some gems. I went to see New Look a couple of weeks back and their stuff looked amazing. But like Disneyrollergirl, I wonder why the stuff we see in the store is sooooo different to what they show at these previews.

3. The sun is shining so it's time to get on board with one of summer's big trends - straw. Top Stylista has her picks of the best straw bags out there - TopShop it seems is going big on this craze, so head on down there if you want to be a summer trendspotter!

4. Eva Mendes is fresh out of rehab and back to work as the face of Calvin Klein. Here's a sneak preview of Eva's shoot with Calvin Klein.

5. If you've always fancied being on Baywatch (and let's face it, who hasn't?!), now's the time to indulge this fantasy. Pamela Anderson is selling up a load of her stuff, including the iconic red Baywatch float, a bikni and some furniture!

Behind the Scenes: Top beauty products reviews

This morning as I nearly broke my neck on rogue beauty products in my spare bedroom, I realised that I've got far too many products for one girl. I'm not complaining though as I love this perk of the job. Yes, I have to deal with very shallow, image-obsessed people, but I also get good freebies.

So as part of this blog, I thought I should impart some of my beauty pearls of wisdom so you too know about these fabulous products!

HQ Hair ocean mist spray - It's fashion, dahling!First up is this little lovely from the unpronounceable Swedish firm Sachajuan, which is available at HQ Hair. The blurb about the Ocean Mist giving your hair a beach feel is really true, except you don't have to get sand up your bum, which can only be a bonus. The day I used it on my hair I had so many compliments. I usually wear my slightly wavy hair straightened but this brings out my natural curl making me look like I've spent the morning surfing on Bondi beach, when in reality I've been crammed into an overground train trying not to inhale someone's stale sweat. Bonus!

My second revelation is Max Factor. Maybe I've just been a bit slow to cotton onto this brand, but I've never bought it before, however, since I got sent lots of freebies, I'm a convert. First up is the miracle touch foundation - it goes on so smooth and gives great coverage without making you look like you work on a make-up counter! Next is Max Factor's Masterpiece Waterproof Mascara. It has fairly good staying power, but the clincher for me is the fact it defines my spindly lashes so well.

So that's my faves at the moment - why not let me know if you've tried any new beauty products? Or perhaps there's one thing you can't live without? Post a comment now!

Celebrity Style: Kate Moss at the Costume Institute gala

Kate Moss at the Costume Institute Gala in New York - It's fashion, dahling!I'm not normally a big Kate Moss fan. I think she only looks good in the stuff she wears because she's do darn attractive and well, modelly. She also looks like she needs to have a good wash.

However, I really do think she's pulled out the all the stops in this gorgeous Grecian frock, which she wore to the recent Costume Insitute gala. She looks really sleek and the dress looks new, as opposed to a skanky bit of fabric she's found lying around.

I also love Kate's make-up - very understated as normal but with the gorgeously casual up-do, it just makes her look even more like a Grecian queen.

If you do one thing this weekend...

Puggles - It's fashion, dahling!... discover a fashionable new breed of dog. I'm torn between a puggle (a pug mixed with a beagle) or a goldendoodle (a golden retriever mixed with a poodle). The days of the small it dogs are over!

... pretend summer is nearly here. Well it is meant to be around 19 degrees tomorrow - woo! Celebrate the start of the sunny season with this lovely TopShop sundress and these gorgeous fringed sandals - tribal is so very in for this summer.

... wear your favourite slogan t-shirt to Executives and Secretaries and Denim T-shirt Slogan Party at Papermill, 2-5 Curtain Road, EC2. Choose one of these lovely little Uniqlo lovelies - my favourite is this local guide t-shirt, although be prepared to be asked for lots of directions!

Have a great bank holiday - see you on Tuesday!

Must-buy item: Pink M&S jumpsuit

Pink M&S jumpsuit - It's fashion, dahling!Sorry for not posting for a while - it's been a mixture of illness and too much work that's kept me from my computer.

Anyway, business is now resumed with this lovely little summer must-have. Sometimes Marks & Spencer hit exactly the right fashion note and their latest Limited Collection items are no exception.

This gorgeous M&S playsuit is just perfect for holidays - or the rare occurance of bank holiday sun!

It can be dressed up with heels and jewels or thrown over a bikini with flip flops - plus the lovely pink colour will look simply wonderful with a tan. What's more, it's the bargain price of £19.50.
